THE COMPUTER SIMULATION DEPARTEMENT KEEPS IMPROVING ITS TECHNICAL EDGE

LIER has always strived to enhance its expertise in the field of numerical simulation of road furniture crash testing.

THE COMPUTER SIMULATION DEPARTEMENT KEEPS IMPROVING ITS TECHNICAL EDGE

In addition to the vehicles used in standard studies, LIER can develop simplified and customised models to meet every customer’s requirements.

Once the desired model is set up, our experts will carry out an impact behavior study and edit a study report and/or provide recommendation for improvement. This comprehensive approach allows the client to collect a set of useful data which helps them in the decision-making process or in the follow-up of their project.

In addition to vehicle and road-furniture testing, our numerical tools also allow the use of numerical dummies to assess impact injury criteria (head, neck, chest, etc...); they can be used for example in preventive studies for motorcyclists, or to model parts of the human body for specific applications, such as orthopedic implants.

This biomechanical expertise is put to great use in the international GHBMC (Global Human Body Models Consortium) project that aims to draw up a numerical model of the human body.
